In 1982, Joe "Jellybean" Bryant, father of the late NBA legend Kobe Bryant, began his professional basketball career overseas in Italy. He played for several Italian teams, including Sebastiani Rieti, Standa Reggio Calabria, and Olimpia Pistoia, until 1992.
