Massive Renovation of DFW Airport Begins with Parking Garage Closures

DFW Airport's $3.5 billion renovation project is underway, and the first phase includes closing two parking garages.

The closures are part of a larger plan to modernize the airport and improve the passenger experience. The project will include new terminals, concourses, and roadways, as well as upgrades to existing facilities.

The two parking garages that are closing are Garage A and Garage C. Garage A is located near Terminal A, and Garage C is located near Terminal C. Both garages will be closed for approximately two years.

What does this mean for passengers?

The closures will mean that passengers will have to find alternative parking arrangements. The airport is recommending that passengers use the DFW Airport Station, which is located near Terminal B. The station is served by the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) and the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART).

Passengers can also use the airport's shuttle buses, which run from the station to all of the terminals. The shuttle buses are free of charge.

What are the benefits of the renovation project?

The renovation project will bring a number of benefits to DFW Airport, including:

  • New terminals and concourses that will provide more space for passengers and airlines
  • Upgrades to existing facilities, such as new restrooms, restaurants, and shops
  • New roadways that will improve traffic flow around the airport
  • A more modern and efficient airport that will better serve the needs of passengers and airlines

When will the renovation project be completed?

The renovation project is expected to be completed in 2025. The first phase of the project, which includes the closure of Garages A and C, is expected to be completed in 2023.
